Use water efficient plumbing fixtures in all state buildings

What problem does it solve? The state still uses plumbing fixtures that waste water. In order to set a good example of environmental stewardship, we need to practice what we preach. What is your solution and who does it apply to? The state needs a policy that mandates the use of plumbing fixtures with the WaterSense label when replacing older models. WaterSense-labeled products are certified to use at least 20 percent less water. See https://www.epa.gov/watersense/about-watersense. Such a pilot program can then be a model for the counties and municipalities to follow. The Governor's Office can even issue an executive order to mandate a similar policy for all places of public accommodation What is the anticipated impact? Implementation of such a policy will reduce water consumption over time. This is increasingly important as the earth's supply of water is becoming more scarce.
